About Eben

Eben Bayer is the CEO of Ecovative, which he co-founded in 2007 shortly after graduating from New York's Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ecovative is now the leading mycelium technology company in the world. He is also Co-founder of MyForest Foods, and is listed as an inventor on 64+ patents.

Eben grew up working on his family's farm in Vermont, where he began thinking of mycelium as new category of material with myriad possibilities. He has since developed mycelium technology into the basis of sustainable innovations across industrial categories, including applications in construction, packaging, food, automotive, fashion and apparel.

As an entrepreneur, inventor, and futurist, Eben speaks around the world communicating the immense potential of natural technologies, and advocating sustainable stewardship of Spaceship Earth. He has presented at TED Global (London), the World Economic Forum (Davos, Switzerland), and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list (US). Eben's areas of interest and activity extend beyond mycelium technology, into agriculture, energy, physics, biopharmaceuticals, and alternative monetary systems.

Eben lives in and maintains an off-grid home with his family in the Capital Region of New York.

In addition to his executive roles at Ecovative and MyForest Foods, he advises environmental start-ups in New York and around the globe.
